It’s a home away from home.

It was a Christmas weekend and our friends’ group was planning for an outing. We booked a dormitory for 5 in Bynekaadu resort as one of our friends suggested. Later realized just for a weekend it will be too much of a drive to this place. Anyways, the trip was on and we drove from Bangalore through the scenic Ghats and took 7 hours to reach.

Once we reached the estate, we felt it was worth a drive. A perfect getaway to the laps of nature. The natural setup is enough to put you in awe and rejuvenate.

We were greeted with a welcome drink and the resort manager took us to our rooms. The rooms were clean and had all the basic necessities in place. The staff was friendly enough to accommodate all our requests. By the time we got freshened up, a delightful buffet meal was awaiting us at the common cafeteria, and the staff was good with their hospitality to offer generous helpings of whatever you liked. The cuisine was very traditional malnad style and I should admit, it was really delicious

The place has nice views all around and one can explore the surroundings by foot to get a better feel of this Malnad region especially in the monsoons.

Evening they took us to the nearby private waterfall visit. It’s beautiful even though the flow was a little thin during winters. Came back to our room and relaxed a bit. They arrange for campfire right outside your room with snacks (2 snacks are complimentary). You can order other items on the menu which will be charged. You can get your own drinks from nearby MRP shops in Kalasa.

Early morning trek to Gaaligudda was very well organized with jeep rides for our group. It was too windy until the beautiful view of sunrise between the infinite stretch of hills. Drove down and visited the Shiva temple in Kalasa.
